National Awards for Bravery for Children

To give due recognition to the children who perform acts of  bravery with a view to inspire other children to follow their example. The deed should be “an act of spontaneous selfless service in the face of risk to life or threat of physical injury and or an act of courage and daring against a social evil/crime.

Meant for Children between the age of 6 and 18 years are entitled. Nomination in respect of the bravery deed occurred between July of the previous year to June of the current year and should be recommended by any two authorities i.e.
1) Principal/Headmaster of school in which the applicant is  studying o Had of Panchayat/ Zilla Parishad.
2) General Secretary President of the State Council for Child Welfare.
3) Collector/DM/Govt. Official of equivalent rank.
4) Supdt. of Police of the area of Police Official of higher rank.

Awards
The recipient of the coveted ‘BHARAT AWARD’ (instituted in 1987 for the most extraordinary act of bravery) receives a Gold Medal, a Citation and a Cash Award. The other awardees receive a Silver Medal, a Certificate and a Cash Award. Gifts are given by philanthrophic organizations.
